Regular readers of my blogs will know that AnyGood? is spearheading a Trust In Recruitment campaign, with the aim of having an open discussion about the current state of the hiring industry. As part of this movement, we commissioned independent research which revealed a rather sorry state of affairs: over half of all respondents that have used recruitment agencies in the past year said that they don’t feel they were dealt with honestly and fewer than 5% of people said that they would trust a recruiter to advise them whether a candidate or role was right for them. Quite frankly, everyone in the industry needs to be sitting up and paying attention.

Trust In Recruitment Debate

It’s clear that trust in the industry is at an all-time low and the sector needs to change if people’s faith in it is to be restored. But what is the solution? To drive this discussion, AnyGood? is hosting a Trust In Recruitment panel debate on the evening of the 9th of October. We’ll be looking at the full findings of our research and asking our expert panellists to share their views on what can be done to challenge the current situation and create positive change. We’ll also be actively welcoming feedback from the audience – after all, the more ideas we have, the better. We will explore not only people’s declining trust in agencies but other key issues, including those relating to retained versus contingent recruitment, the role of regulatory bodies, the impact of technology including AI, and the other available methods of sourcing. At the end, there will be an opportunity for Q&A and then some time for networking.

Get involved

Our research shows that it’s definitely time for disruption. So, if you’d like to be a part of the movement for change, particularly if you’re in the industry as a hiring manager, recruiter, diversity specialist or within HRTech, and you just enjoy a good old-fashioned debate, sign up for the event today!  And, if you would like to share your thoughts on how to drive change and be a panellist, get in touch – we’d love to hear from you.
